SCALLOP

The scallop technique is characterized by a series of graceful curves reminiscent of a scallop shell’s edge. It features curved, semi-circle edges in oxidized cobalt chrome around prong set diamonds.

I have had many customers ask me to set diamonds directly in the cobalt chrome - and I can't blame them - the contrast between the brilliance of a diamond and the matte black of my oxidized cobalt chrome is irresistible! Alas, cobalt chrome is too hard to set stones in, so here is my work around: each stone rests in a tube of gold that is hidden by a scallop edged cobalt chrome surround, with only the gold prongs appearing at the surface to hold the stones securely in place. Fortunately, having a bit of gold showing is hardly a sacrifice - it only adds to the beautiful look!

The Scallop Collection is infinitely customizable, and perfect for using up lots of tiny diamonds you may have laying around in your jewelry box, making it a great option for ReStyling!
